Detroit Dough LLC took home $10,000 on Wednesday as winner of a pitch competition put on by beer giant Sam Adams in partnership with the Build Institute.
In addition to the grant, Sam Adams will provide the Detroit-based sweet treat startup a year of coaching.
Detroit Dough competed against four other teams of local entrepreneurs in front of a panel of six judges at Jam Handy in Detroit. The competition was followed by a speed-coaching event where local business owners received assistance from experts in sales, accounting, business plans, design, marketing and social media.
